Mistakes happen — sometimes an inspection may be completed under the wrong property. With Property Inspect, you don’t need to start from scratch. You can either update the property address or copy the inspection to the correct property, ensuring your records remain accurate while saving time.
ℹ️ Which Option Should I Use?
Option 1: Change / Switch the Property Address
Best for when only one inspection exists under the incorrect property.
The inspection will remain in place, but its details will reflect the corrected property information.
On your online dashboard, go to Properties.
Find the incorrect property and click Edit Property.
Update the address details to the correct property.
Option 2: Copy the Report to the Correct Property
Best for when there are historic inspections on the incorrect property that you need to preserve.
Go to the correct property and click Add New Inspection.
The system will show the most recent report being copied from, highlighted in a green banner.
Click Override.
From the Template drop-down menu, select Load From Property.
Select the property where the inspection was originally completed.
Once you have saved and created your inspection, start your newly created report.
If the inspection you need isn’t the most recent one for the property, you’ll need to manually import it.
To do this, scroll to the bottom of the report editor and open the Template drop-down menu.
Select the property and then the specific inspection you want to copy.
In the import options, click Reset and tick the boxes for:
Include Answers and Conditions
Include Actions
Include Images
Click Import to complete the move.
Once the data has imported, both the property and the inspection will show the import in their activity trails, displaying the exact inspection the data came from.
❗ Important Notes
If the report was already Closed, it will need to be re-signed by the relevant individual(s).
Don’t forget to return to the original property and Cancel Inspection. This can be found at the bottom left of the desktop screen on the inspection.
