Before You Start

Before syncing inspections, make sure:

  • Your PMX integration is connected.

  • Your PMX property sync settings have been reviewed.

  • The relevant PMX properties, buildings, or units have been imported into Property Inspect.

  • Your inspection sync settings have been configured.

You can find your PMX settings by going to:

Settings > Integrations > MRI Property Management X

⚠️ Important: Inspections should be linked to PMX-imported property records so that updates can sync correctly between Property Inspect and PMX.

How Inspection Sync Works

The PMX integration can import supported inspections from MRI PMX into Property Inspect.

Once imported, the inspection can be managed in Property Inspect as part of your normal inspection workflow.

Depending on your settings, Property Inspect can then send selected updates back to PMX.

These may include:

Update

What This Means

Inspection Status

Property Inspect can update the inspection status in PMX when the inspection state changes.

Report Link

Property Inspect can send the report PDF link back to PMX when a report PDF is generated.

Sync Settings

The Sync Settings section controls whether inspections should sync automatically from PMX into Property Inspect.

To find this setting:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Integrations.

  3. Scroll to MRI Property Management X.

  4. Find Sync Settings.

  5. Enable Sync Inspections, if you want inspections to sync from PMX.

When enabled, Property Inspect can automatically sync inspections from PMX daily.

Manually Sync Inspections

You can also manually sync inspections from PMX.

To manually sync inspections:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Integrations.

  3. Scroll to MRI Property Management X.

  4. Click Sync Inspections.

  5. Confirm that you want to continue.

  6. Wait for the sync to complete.

Once the sync has finished, Property Inspect will show a confirmation message.

Inspection Update Settings

The Inspection Update Settings control what Property Inspect sends back to PMX after inspections are imported and managed in Property Inspect.

The available options include:

Setting

What It Does

Sends the Property Inspect report PDF link back to PMX when a report PDF is generated.

Sends inspection status changes from Property Inspect back to PMX.

Sends Property Inspect actions to PMX as service requests, depending on the selected trigger.

Sync Report Link

When Update Report Link is enabled, Property Inspect can send the generated report PDF link back to PMX.

You can sync the report link back:

  • to the Inspection; or

  • the Resident Note, or

  • Never (not sync)

💡 Tip: Make sure the inspection was imported from PMX and is linked correctly before relying on report links being sent back.

Update Status

When Update Status is enabled, Property Inspect can send inspection status changes back to PMX.

For example, when the inspection moves through the Property Inspect workflow, the corresponding status can be updated in PMX.

This helps keep both systems aligned and reduces the need to manually update inspection progress in PMX.

ℹ️ Important: Status updates depend on the inspection being linked between PMX and Property Inspect.

Create Service Requests

The Create Service Requests setting controls whether Property Inspect actions should be sent to PMX as service requests.

This setting allows you to choose if actions should sync to PMX, and when that should happen.

ℹ️ This is covered separately in the guide:

ℹ️ This guide focuses on Update Report Link and Update Status.

Recommended Setup Flow

For the best results, configure and sync your PMX data in this order:

  1. Connect the PMX integration.

  2. Configure your property sync settings.

  3. Sync your PMX properties.

  4. Configure your contact import settings.

  5. Configure your inspection sync settings.

  6. Sync inspections from PMX.

  7. Enable report link or status updates, if required.

  8. Configure service request settings, if actions should sync to PMX.

ℹ️ This helps make sure inspections are linked to the correct imported PMX records before updates are sent back.
