This guide explains how to configure Property Sync Settings for the MRI Property Management X (PMX) integration.
Property sync allows you to import selected PMX property records into Property Inspect, so inspections, contacts, actions, and report updates can be linked to the correct PMX property data.

Before You Start
Before syncing properties, make sure your PMX integration is already connected.
You can check this by going to:
Settings > Integrations > MRI Property Management X
If PMX is connected, you will see the PMX settings area.
⚠️ If it is not connected yet, follow the MRI PMX: Connection Guide first.
Important: Review your property settings before syncing. This helps prevent unwanted properties from being imported into Property Inspect.
How PMX Property Data Is Structured
MRI PMX stores property data across different areas, depending on how your PMX account is set up.
The main PMX areas used by the integration are:
PMX Area | What It Usually Contains |
Shared | Entities |
Residential Management | Properties, buildings, and units |
Commercial Management | Buildings and suites |
In Property Inspect, you can choose which available levels you want to import.
For example, you may only want to import Residential Management units, or you may want to import both Residential Management buildings and units.
Property Search Settings
The Property Search Settings control which PMX property levels are available to import into Property Inspect.
To find these settings, go to:
Settings > Integrations > MRI Property Management X
Under Property Search Settings, you can enable or disable the levels you want to include.
Depending on your PMX setup, this may include:
Setting | What It Means |
Entities | Imports shared cabinet entity-level records from PMX. |
Commercial Management Buildings | Imports commercial buildings from PMX. |
Commercial Management Suites | Imports commercial suites from PMX. |
Residential Management Properties | Imports residential properties from PMX. |
Residential Management Buildings | Imports residential buildings from PMX. |
Residential Management Units | Imports residential units from PMX. |
Configure Property Types
You can also choose which PMX property types should be included or excluded when importing properties.
To configure property types:
Go to Settings > Integrations.
Scroll to MRI Property Management X.
Click Configure Property Types.
Select the property types you want to include or exclude.
Click Save.
This is useful if you only want specific types of PMX records to sync into Property Inspect.
Sync Settings
The Sync Properties setting controls whether PMX properties should sync automatically.
When enabled, Property Inspect can sync property data from PMX automatically each day.
To enable property syncing:
Go to Settings > Integrations.
Scroll to MRI Property Management X.
Under Sync Settings, switch Sync Properties to On.
ℹ️ Automatic syncing helps keep your imported PMX property records up to date in Property Inspect.
Manually Sync Properties
You can also manually sync properties from PMX.
To manually sync properties:
Go to Settings > Integrations.
Scroll to MRI Property Management X.
Review your Property Search Settings and Configure Property Types settings.
Click Sync Properties.
Confirm that you want to continue.
Wait for the import to complete.
ℹ️ Property Inspect will show progress while properties are importing.
Once complete, you will see a confirmation showing how many properties were created or updated.
How Property Matching Works
When properties are imported from PMX, Property Inspect checks whether each PMX property matches an existing Property Inspect property.
Match Type | What Happens |
Exact Match | If the PMX property matches an existing Property Inspect property, the existing property is updated. |
No Exact Match | If no exact match is found, a new property is created in Property Inspect. |
This helps reduce duplicate records where a clear match exists, while still making sure PMX property data is imported where no match can be found.
⚠️ Important: If property details or addresses do not match exactly, Property Inspect may create a new property instead of updating an existing one.
After Properties Have Synced
Once your PMX properties have imported, you can:
Review the imported properties in Property Inspect.
Check that the expected buildings, units, or suites have imported.
Confirm that imported records are linked to PMX.
Continue with contact, inspection, and action/service request setup.

What To Check If Properties Do Not Import As Expected
If properties do not import as expected, check the following:
What To Check | Why It Matters |
PMX is connected | Property sync requires an active PMX connection. |
Property levels are enabled | Only enabled PMX levels are included in the sync. |
Property types are included | Excluded property types will not be imported. |
Sync Properties is enabled | Automatic sync requires this setting to be switched on. |
Manual sync was completed | If automatic sync has not run yet, use Sync Properties manually. |
The property exists in PMX | Property Inspect can only import records available through PMX. |
ℹ️ If you are still unsure, contact Property Inspect Support with the PMX property details you expected to import.
