In this article we will explore how to create sub properties manually or by importing units associated with a building in order to accelerate the onboarding process.

How to Manually Add a Sub-Property
Navigate to the property in Property Inspect.
Click on the Units tab and select Add Unit.
Add the relevant property information, and save to continue.
What is a Property ID?
π‘ A property ID is the numeric code at the end of the URL when viewing a property in Property Inspect:

Export the Property
It isn't necessary, but helpful to export the parent property from the system and adding the additional units to the import sheet.
When adding the units to the CSV file, you want to ensure that the property ID of the parent property becomes the parent property ID for the units.
Preparing the Import Sheet and Importing the Units
In the below video, we explain the main ideas and relating to preparing the import sheet, importing the data and reviewing the newly import units.
π‘ The import file needs to be in a CSV format.
With the import sheet completed, navigate to the dashboard, click on the down arrow next to Add New Inspection, followed by Import.
Choose the Properties tab.
Review the configurable fields and select the import sheet from your computer.
